Weekly Update - March 21 - 25

Last week was incredibly busy and amazing. We learned about our patron Saint Patrick, had a treasure hunt throughout the school, and shared the wonderful leprechaun traps with our school community. They will be coming home Monday after school. We also had parent/teacher interviews on Thursday evening and Friday morning. It was wonderful meeting with all of you. Thank you for all of the positive comments and support! It is easy to see why your children are so wonderful to work with! After interviews, we met as a group and worked on PD for the remainder of the day.

Our Lenten activities continue this week and we will be learning about the Stations of the Cross! We have a fieldtrip to Green Haven on Tuesday afternoon. We will be learning about different kinds of plants and how they grow. Thank you in advance to the parents who have volunteered to be helpers for this activity! Parents are welcome to join us on the bus. Please try to come to the school by 12:30 - 12:35 pm because the bus will pull out as soon as we have students loaded onto the bus.

March 25th is Good Friday, so Holy Thursday will be the last day before we head off for the Easter break. May all of you have and safe and blessed holiday. I look forward to hearing about all the adventures students had over the break!

Weekly Update - March 14 - 18

Next week is going to be a short week. Report cards will be handed out at the end of the day on Monday. We will keep to our regular routine as much as possible with a focus on our patron saint and some leprechaun activities thrown in for fun. Thursday is St. Patrick's Day, please send your child in something green. It is also pizza lunch day hosted by 2PH. Students will be bringing their leprechaun traps this week. The traps that have been brought in so far are fantastic!! We will be placing them on the stairs near the office for all of the school and parents to enjoy. Thank you to all of the families for sharing their creativity with us!

Friday after interviews is a P.D. Day for teachers but students have a day off. I am looking forward to sharing your child's successes with each of you! If interview times don't work for you, I am happy to schedule a meeting at another time.

Weekly Update - March 7 - 11

Monday is a no school day because all of the Holy Spirit Division staff will be meeting at C.C.H.S. East for Spiritual Development Day.

This week we will continue with the Lent and St. Patrick's Day themes. There has been lots of talk and excitement about the Leprechaun Traps. I look forward to seeing them as they come in.

The conference manager is open on the 7th for parents to book interviews. If you find that none of the times work for you, I am happy to meet after school or at lunch on a different day.

Students have been practicing both of their songs for Kiwanis Festival. Our performance will be held at the Southminster United Church on Tuesday March 8th sometime between 10:50 - 11:30. Parents, grandparents and any other family members are encouraged to come out and enjoy the performance! There will be a small charge at the door.

On Thursday the entire school goes to St. Francis Junior High to watch The Lion King Junior@ 9:30 am. If you haven't sent back the consent form yet, please do so before the 10th. Students without consent forms will have to stay at the school. Please let me know if you need another form sent home.
