Helen Schuler Coulee Center

We went on our first fieldtrip of the year to Helen Schuler Coulee Center on the 18th. It was WONDERFUL!! We had a terrific presenter, lots of parent helpers, and fantastic weather! The students had a great time and they learned a lot about fall seasonal effects on leaves and animals.

We also had team colour day on Friday. The colour teams are made up of students from each grade level and each team has a famous artist that they learn about. Even though we missed grade five reading buddy time, all of the students enjoyed participating in various activities with their colour team members.

Pumpkin Carving Day

We are partnering with students from CCHS to carve pumpkins on Wednesday.
They are bringing ten pumpkins and we will break students up into groups of one high school student and four or five grade one's per pumpkin. We will begin about 12:45 and should be finished in time to send students out for recess. We will draw one student's name from each group, and that student will be able to take the carved pumpkin home for Hallowe'en. Now that I have learned how to upload pictures to this blog, I will post pictures of our carving adventures. Please let me know if you don't want your child's picture posted.
