Weekly Update - May 2 - 6

Last week was a very busy week that began with a fieldtrip to Aggie Days and wrapped up with Wellness Day. Thank you to the parents who joined us for Aggie Days and Wellness Day. Friday was a great morning with lots of learning and tons of movement! It was a perfect lead into the beginning of Running Club. Running club begins first thing Monday morning. The club will run from 8:25 - 8:40 a.m. Monday - Thursday and from 12:05 - 12:33  p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. All students are welcome to join. It is a great way to start the day! Parents are welcome to participate also if interested. Come one, come all! Please contact me if you have any questions.

Your children continue to work hard on becoming authors by writing stories they are very proud of. Stop by and check out some of their Fleezle stories on hall bulletin board! Next week we will finish up our Mother's Day theme and begin working on a Farm Life theme.

We have two fieldtrips coming up this month. On May 10th we go to the Lethbridge College Hubbard Collection and on the 24th we go to SAAG (Southern Alberta Art Gallery) to view the work of students from schools throughout Lethbridge. Both forms will come home tomorrow. I will put them on different coloured paper to avoid confusion!

On May 17th, Scientists In Schools will come to our class to teach us about insects. It fits in very nicely with our Science outcomes.

Scholastic book forms went out on Friday and are due on May 13th. It is a great way to get appropriately leveled books for your child at a good price. In addition, we get free books for the classroom library and prize box.
