Weekly Update - June 19 - 23

We are about to begin our second last week of grade one!! Hopefully the weather will be full of sun and warmth. This will be a week packed with fun activities for students (and teachers too!).

On Monday students will spend some time reading with older buddies. On Tuesday students are invited to bring their favourite stuffy. Wednesday is talent day and I am looking forward to the students showcasing themselves! On Thursday, we go on our fieldtrip to Fort Whoop Up and then we have our end of the year picnic. Thank you to all of the parents who have volunteered to chaperone the fieldtrip and/or bring snacks for the picnic. We will also acknowledge all of the summer birthdays and have an orientation day in the grade two classes.

We will enjoy a video and popcorn on Friday afternoon. (please send some popcorn with your child).  Monday the grade ones will enjoy watermelon, a huge thank you to the parents for supplying it.

Please note that I have changed all of the Raz Kids levels to reflect the level students read on their assessments. Have them stop after each page and ask themselves, "Who is in the story and what is going on?". It is really important that they understand what they are reading.
