We had a great week and a very successful pizza day on Thursday. Thank you very much to all of the parents for their help with counting the money, sorting out the orders and handing out pizza!
I talked to the students
about some of the upcoming events in February. Ground Hog Day is
on February 3rd, we will be doing a few activities relating to the
day. The 100th day of school falls on the 13th.
Students are encouraged to create a 100 day hat at home and wear
it to school that day. We talked about all of the different possibilities there
are for their hats, get creative mom and dad!!
The next day is Valentine’s
Day. I will be sending home a class list so that students will be able to
write a card for each of their classmates. We will have a snack and a Valentine
movie on that afternoon. The parent rep will call a few parents for snacks and
water bottles.
We have a fieldtrip to Home
Hardware coming up at the end of February. We are still waiting on an
exact date from the store. As part of our building unit, we will be
constructing a notepad holder. We will need about five adult helpers so
the room rep will be contacting you soon to see if you are available. Consent forms
will come home as soon as we know the details. Please check the
"Fieldtrip" link regularly to see the upcoming fieldtrips.
Also, please note the link for monthly homework. This is strictly optional for students. If your child wants to participate, they can use a notebook or scribbler to complete the daily activities and I will accept them whenever they are turned in. This is not meant to add more to your already busy schedule. It is merely for those who are looking for school related activities for their eager child.
Please check the "Important Dates" link to see what is coming up this week. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the above information. Have a great rest of your weekend!
