Last week we made leaf people with the beautiful leaves that were sent to school. It was lots of mess, lots of clean up and lots of fun! We have displayed them on the bulletin board just inside the classroom door. Raz Kids is up and running, my password is pbeaudina and all of the students have bunny as a pass code. I have put levels on every student, let me know if the books are too easy or too hard and I will adjust it.
This week we will continue to work on Hallowe'en themed activities. Our class is very excited to have a partner grade one class at FLVT. We are writing Hallowe'en poems and making a book for them this week. Pumpkin carving will go ahead as scheduled at 10:30 am on Monday, October 29th. Thank you to all those who have offered to donate a pumpkin for carving or snacks for our party. Currently, we only have 5 people signed up to help with carving and we can use another 2 if possible. Let me know if you are able to join us.
Parent/ Teacher collaborative meetings will take place Wednesday and Thursday evenings October 24th and 25th beginning at 4:15 pm. I am looking forward to meeting with all of you. It is important to remember that actual report cards don't go our until the 23rd of November. These meetings will be focusing on initial basic assessments and first impressions.
Thank you for all of the practicing of spelling words you have been doing at home. It has been making a positive difference in both student confidence and performance! I have also been sending small booklets with spelling list sight words for students to practice on at home. Once completed, students are encouraged to bring them back for a sticker!
