I hope you all enjoyed the extra long weekend! We participated in some invaluable P.D on Friday.
Tuesday is groundhog day and we will be eagerly checking our predictions from last week. The majority of the students predicted that the groundhog would not see his own shadow. Based on the recent weather, it seemed pretty likely that we would have an early Spring! (fingers crossed)
I am so proud of hard your children have been working on their reading, writing and math skills! They diligently work on math booklets and word work first thing every morning. I will begin assessing for the report card in a couple of weeks. In addition to having your child practice reading sight words and leveled books, they can also practice counting to 100 by 1, 2, 5, and 10.
Next week is 100th day, I can't wait to see the hats students have created. Also, Friday is our Valentine party. We will have a couple of snacks, pass out cards, and watch a Valentine video.
We will be exchanging Valentine cards on the afternoon of Friday Feb 12th. Please find a small box, cut a slat in the top and help your child decorate it. Please have your child bring it to school before Valentine Friday. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at 403 327-4386.
