Our class consists of 9 boys and 12 girls for a total of 21 students! There will be information and educational web sites that will remain here throughout the year - so bookmark our classroom webpage to your home computer and it will be easy for your child to access these games and links at home! If you have websites you would like me to share with our class, please let me know and I will add them to our pages!

Weekly Update - January 11 - 15
We had a very busy first week back. Students have been working in math addition/ subtraction skills booklets and morning work sheets each morning. Many of the students have asked to take their books home and already finished the first two booklets. I am very impressed by their progress!
Students will begin writing in their journals this week. Their entries will be quite simple at this time, but they are beginning to spell words and form sentences using some of the strategies they have learned. Many students are opting to write their own books during free time and indoor recesses!
I am glad to see that many of the students have been reading books regularly on Raz Kids. At this time of the year, students should be heading near level D/E books. I adjusted all of the reading levels on Raz-Kids so please let me know if your child is finding the books too easy or too difficult. They have been increasing their reading stamina since the beginning of the year and we are now at about 22 minutes!
Art club for grade one students will begin this Tuesday and will continue each Tuesday at lunch time for the rest of January. Students just needed to show up to join, we encourage all students to take part. If your child is interested, they just need to let me know.
Just a reminder that Scholastic book orders are due on January 15th. Also, pizza orders are due by 9:00 a.m. Monday January 11th.
Dates to remember:
Jan 14 - Pizza lunch sponsored by 6S
Jan 15 - Father Salvador visits
