Weekly Update - January 18 - 22

Winter Polar Bear and Penguin

I talked to the students about some of the many upcoming events in February. Ground Hog Day is on February 2nd, we will be doing a few activities relating to weather that day. That afternoon, Scientists in School visits our class.

The first weeks of February will be super busy! Shrove Tuesday is on February 9th, Ash Wednesday is on the 10th and 100th day of school falls on the 11th. Students are encouraged to create a 100 day hat at home and wear it to school that day. We talked about all of the different possibilities there are for their hats, get creative mom and dad!!

The next day is Valentine’s Day. I will be sending home a class list so that students will be able to write a card for each of their classmates. We will have a snack and a Valentine movie on that afternoon. The parent rep will call a few parents for snacks and water bottles.

Also, please note the link for monthly homework. This is strictly optional for students. If your child wants to participate, they can use a notebook or scribbler to complete the daily activities and I will accept them whenever they are turned in. This is not meant to add more to your already busy schedule. It is merely for those who are looking for school related activities for their eager child.
Please check the "Important Dates" link to see what is coming up in the weeks ahead. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the above information. Have a great rest of your weekend!
