June is almost here!! I hope your children have been enjoying the ABC's of grade one. Last week we went to the Southern Alberta Art Gallery and were blessed with a beautiful warm day. Your children loved it there and they learned a lot about professional art as well as art created by students in the Lethbridge area.
On Tuesday, May 31, students from Run Club will participate in a bonus run. It will take place at noon and will proceed around the paths of the lake park, across the street from school. Since it means leaving the school yard, only students with signed consent forms are permitted to participate. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
As you have read, both grade one classes are doing a mission project to collect for the Lion's Club. Parents were asked to bring their purchased summer items and they were set up in the display case by the office. Raffle tickets will be sold during recesses and lunch from the 6th to the 10th. The draws will be made after lunch on Friday the 10th. All monies raised will be donated to the Lion's Club for the training of Guide Dogs. We will be having an end of the year picnic for the grade one classes on Friday, June 10th. Students will be asked to bring their lunches as usual but a few parents will be asked to provide treats (watermelon, orange pieces, cookies). The classroom rep will be contacting parents soon.
