This Tuesday we celebrate both Valentine's day and Pink Shirt day.The beautiful boxes you and your child have created are being displayed in the case across from the office. The morning will go along as normal, but in the afternoon we will exchange valentines, watch a short video and enjoy some delicious treats. Thank you to those parents supplying treats and water! Please make sure that your child is very aware of what they can and cannot eat as there will be a variety of snacks available
On Wednesday we will concentrate on the 100th day of the school year. I still can't believe that we are over half way through the school year! I have some 100 day activities planned for the morning. We will wrap up the day with a "Mad Hatter" parade through the office and a few of the other classrooms. I am certain that you and your children have been busy creating fantastic 100th day hats for this exciting event!
I have begun assessing reading and math skills for the next report card. Please help your child practice counting to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's. The words from our spelling tests are the sight words I will focus on. Also, if all the stars align, students should be reading close to level E/F by the March report card. I know that sounds high, but I am proud of the progress they have made already!
