I hope that all of you are having a restful week filled with lots of family fun! I am really looking forward to Teacher’s Convention this year! I have chosen many very good sessions and am looking forward to having lots of new ideas to use in the classroom.

We have a number of special days coming up in the next month. Next week is Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday. Parent Council will provide a free pancake lunch for the whole school on Tuesday. The next day our entire school will be going to mass at 11:00 am and parents are welcome to join us. We will be talking about the meaning of Lent and doing Lenten activities during the weeks leading up to Good Friday.

Report card time is upon us so, along with our normal activities, we will be very busy with math, reading and writing assessments. Our fieldtrip to Green Haven is on Tuesday March 14th in the afternoon. I will be sending fieldtrip consent forms home on March 1st. Thank you in advance to the parents who will be able to join us as chaperones.

St. Patrick's Day is not far away. The grade ones will be building a leprechaun trap with their family to bring to school. I will send a note home with all of the details but feel free to start making plans with your child!

We also have Kiwanis Choral Speech coming up on March 28th. The performances will take place in the St. Patrick Fine Arts gym. I will send more information as we get closer to the date. I will also attach the two poems they will be performing on my site next week.

Please check the Important Dates link to keep up with what is happening. New Scholastic book forms will be coming home soon.
