Welcome back!! I hope that all of you had a restful week filled with lots of family fun! The weather sure has lived up to our snowy groundhog predictions! I really enjoyed Teacher’s Convention this year! I went to a few very good sessions and have lots of new ideas to use in the classroom.
We are beginning the second week of Lent. Report card time is upon us so, along with our normal and Lenten activities, we will be very busy with math, reading and writing assessment.
Our Grade Five students will be hosting a Lenten Celebration at 12:45 pm on Friday, March 2nd. Parents are most welcome to join us in the gym.
Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day. Please have your children wear a pink shirt if they have one. We will be participating in anti-bullying activities throughout the day.
Our fieldtrip to Home Depot is coming up on March 7th from 9:15 - 11:45 am. Students will be building either a birdhouse or toolbox. We will need to have at least one adult for every two students if possible. If parents are able to join us it would be most appreciated. I am still waiting for a few fieldtrip consent forms to be returned. If you have misplaced the form, it can be downloaded from the school website.
St. Patrick's Day will be here soon! Students will be making Leprechaun Traps at home. This year we hope to finally catch that sneaky little leprechaun who lurks around our school! More information will be sent out this week.
Please check the Important Dates link to keep up with what is happening. Also, Scholastic book forms are due soon.
