March is nutrition month and we will be talking a lot about making healthy food choices. We will likely use lunch time as an opportunity to have these discussions. Please remember to send lunches that do not need to be heated up by microwave. This rule was put into place because we only have 3 designated microwaves for student use. If a high number of students use them, many students would not be able to eat their lunch during the allotted time.
We head out to Home Depot on March 7th. Both grade one classes will be going so there may not be room for parents on the bus this time. We will leave the school about 9:00 am. We are scheduled to be there from 9:15 to 11:45ish. Thank you to all of the parents who have volunteered to help out.
On March 8th the whole school is going to St. Francis Junior High to see their presentation of the Little Mermaid. We leave just before 9:00 and return about 11:30 am.
Soon it will be St. Patrick’s Day!! Please have your children bring their Leprechaun traps to school between March 13th and 16th. We will place them out for rest of the school to admire. We will be celebrating the day on March 16th by decorating eggs and cookies in the art room. Thank you to everyone for pitching in with donations. A special thank you to Lara Manhas for organizing the morning! I am a very lucky teacher to have such wonderful parents to work with.
