This week and next week will both be short weeks. This Friday will be an in school PD day so no school for students, and next Monday is Victoria Day. It is hard to believe, but we have less than 30 days of grade one left! As summer approaches, it is a great time to reflect on your child's accomplishments over the past few months of this school year. I always marvel at the transformation students make in such a short time!
Your children did Picasso artwork using oil pastels last week and they are stellar! If you get a chance, pop by and take a peek at the display in the hallway!
Next week we are starting the ABC's of grade one. I went over the calendar with the students and I am fairly sure that "Bubbles and Bubble Gum" day will get high ratings from most of the students. I will supply Double Bubble gum but students are allowed to bring their own if they choose.
Our final field trip will be to The Southern Alberta Art Gallery is on Tuesday, May 24th . Parents are welcome to join us. It is a great way to see the beautiful artwork from schools throughout the Lethbridge area.
The Living Rosary celebration, hosted by the Grade one classes, is on Thursday, May 26th. Your children have been practicing the Hail Mary and Glory Be, I am confident that they are well prepared. Please feel free to join us for the celebration. I am adding the Hail Mary and Glory Be below for them to practice at home.
I will also be sending home the last Scholastic order form for the year. If you are interested in ordering, please return the form ASAP.
