Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers. I hope that you enjoyed the Tea Party, skits and gifts from your children. They worked very hard and were very excited to serve and entertain you on Friday. A very special thank you to the fathers who played a huge part in pulling everything together.

Last week our class went to the SAAG to view Arts Alive. It was wonderful to see the beautiful art created by the children of Lethbridge. If you get a chance to visit the gallery while this display is still on, I highly recommend it.

We have a busy week leading up to Victoria Day long weekend. In addition to practicing for the Mary Celebration on May 24th, we will be shifting our focus to some new concepts.

In Social Studies we are learning about some of the many landmarks we see and enjoy around the Lethbridge area. Ask your children about some of their favourites.

In Science we are learning about Living and Non Living things. Our class will be planting seeds in our miniature garden. It is made from clear plastic so it allows us to watch the plants grow above and throughout the soil. Students will enjoy watering it daily.

Assessment time starts soon. Please have your child read and practice addition and subtraction to 20. They have been working on these skills in class but it never hurts to get extra practice. Grade Two is just around the corner!

Dates to Remember:
May 17 - Pizza Lunch

May 22 - Site based P.D. Day - no school for students
May 23 - Alphabet Countdown - A Day
May 24 - Mary Celebration @9:15 - led by Grade One - Parents Welcome
