This week our focus is on Valentines Day and 100th day of school. Wednesday is day 100, we will be officially half way to the end of the school year! Mass will be held in the gym from 10:45 - 11:15 am, then 100th day activities, and finally we will wrap up the festivities with a "Mad Hatter" parade through a few other classrooms. Many students have already brought in their 100 Day hats. I am overwhelmed with the creativity!!
The next day is Valentine's Day! The morning will go on as normal and lunch will be provided by parent council for those who ordered. In the afternoon we will exchange Valentines, watch a short video and enjoy some delicious treats supplied by the parents. Thank you to those parents supplying treats and water! Please make sure that your child is very aware of what they can and cannot eat as there will be a variety of snacks available.
I will begin assessing reading and math skills for the next report card starting February 11th. Please help your child practice counting to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's. Also, students will benefit from daily reading March report card. I am very proud of the progress they are making each day. I adjusted the levels on Raz Kids. Let me know if they are too hard or too easy.
